"Life is What You Make It"

... and knowing that, I'd like to tell you that I'm a happy person again. Not that I was unhappy, but I had more frequent fits of my depressive-artistic moods than I needed. And I'll never give up depression as a source of inspiration, which is why I'm listening to The Silent Enigma now (Anathema, anyone?)
No, I don't have a new boyfriend, if that's what you thought. I think I'm mentally healthy now for a new relationship, but you know what I've found? Being single is actually better. You have more opportunities to have innocent or not so innocent conversations with guys who are actually interesting, rather than someone to whom you have committed your passions. And The Prince will show up one day, I'm sure.
However, surprisingly enough, I've been thinking more about MY future and career these days than about other things. And I've been doing that from a broader perspective, rather than the usual oh-my-God-I-have-an-exam-tomorrow perspective. Yes, exams are crucial and I still freak out about them, and study restlessly, and I'll always do that. However, would it sound irresponsible to you if I said that I've discovered that there's more to life than that? There's art, and knowing people, and knowing things about the world. And I think I'm happier because I've allowed myself to take some time and explore these things. And strangely enough, because I've allowed myself to do that, I think I'll be more successful in life than I would have been if I just studied. That is not to say that I haven't been super-excited to play with PHP and write my little scripts that will evolve into something bigger that I'm planning on doing for my internship :P But oh well, I'm a CS major, so some nerdiness is allowed :D
Oh and, completely off-topic, blue-black hair is such a beautiful thing!
