San Francisco

SF is beautiful and I'm in love with it.

On Friday night I left my internship early as I wanted to catch my flight at 5pm and be in SJC at 6 so I could see David in Palo Alto.

On Saturday I got to San Francisco, where I met Sasho who flew into SFO. After checking in etc, we went out to the Fisherman's Wharf, through North Beach, and had clam chowders for dinner. We also went to the Castro neighborhood. Then we went to the movies to watch 300.

On Sunday we went to North Beach again for Italian lunch, then to the Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill, then the crooked Lombard Street, then to the Golden Gate Bridge. The feeling one gets while walking on it is strange. It really is strange to walk so high above the water, and it feels a little scary at the same time. Maybe this uniqueness is why suiciders choose that bridge. Then, after a short break at the hotel, we went to Chinatown for dinner.

Then on Monday we tried to go to Alcatraz, but there were no tours until the next day, so instead we went to the Aquarium and watched some sea creatures. Then we went to the amazing Marina District. It felt like I was in a painting of something... It's unlike any other place I've been, it's so inspiringly beautiful, and one can spend hours in reverie there. Then we passed by the Postcard Row and Alamo Square. In the evening we had dinner at an Indian place and went to a small bar in our area (the Union Square).

On Tuesday we went to Market Street with the intent to shop a little, but we didn't really do that. We were at the airport at 2:30 and back in Claremont at 8pm... while mentally we were still in SF.

End of report :P

"United company mountain lifts"

SO, yesterday was such a long day that I thought it deserves reporting.
I got up at 8 and was in LA at 9:30. I was exhausted since it was a long week, but Friday is my internship day at the Machine Project. I worked from 10:15am till 4:15pm, trying to figure out PHP... :) Mark had a visit from the Warhol Foundation, and he thinks it went well.
Despite my exhaustion, I thought I had enough energy to meet with Katya, who was leaving for Bulgaria the next day, and so I traveled to Santa Monica (for about 90 min). But it was worth it, cause Santa Monica is prettier at night. Then I got back home at 10:15 (on top of everything, the last train from Union Station was delayed...) I was starving, so Andreea and I went to the Coop, and then instead of going to sleep which I should have done, we went out and didn't come home until 2:30am.
It's strange how these are the days when I feel happiest.

P.S. Happy "Liberation Day"!
